Last Friday, Rajanikanth watched a movie which he was eagerly looking forward to see on the big screen.

The 200th film of late Kannada superstar Dr Vishnuvardhan’s Aptha Rakshaka at AVM studio at a sneak preview arranged by its director P Vasu.

Aptha Rakshaka releasing next Friday (Feb 19) in Karnataka is the sequel to the director’s own blockbuster in Kannada Aptha Mithra, which was remade into Tamil as Chandramukhi with Rajinikanth in the lead.

Now the sequel Aptha Rakshaka, given U/A certificate is also directed by P Vasu and is going to be the last film of Dr Vishnu, who passed away last year. The others in the cast are Vimala Raman, Sandhya, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Srinivsamurthy, Vinith, Komalkumar and is produced by Krishna Prajwal.

Rajinikanth was a very close friend of Vishnuvardhan. Remember they had together rocked at Lissy Priyadarshan’s private party a “get together of 80’s stars” in Chennai last year.

According to sources, Rajinikanth was “emotionally moved with the last 10 minutes of the film” and he hugged director P Vasu after watching the movie. Now the big question being asked is will Rajini do the remake of Apatha Rakshaka in Tamil and will Sivaji Productions produce it? Actually there was another show for Sivaji Production bosses Prabhu, Ramkumar and their family members. P Vasu has made it clear that he will be remaking it in Tamil and his first choice will always be Rajinikanth
